چکیده

The mean density of a random closed set Θ in R with Hausdorff dimension n is the Radon-Nikodym derivative of the expected measure E[H(Θ ∩ · )] induced by Θ with respect to the usual d-dimensional Lebesgue measure. We consider here inhomogeneous Boolean models with lower dimensional typical grain. Under general regularity assumptions on the typical grain, related to the existence of its Minkowski content, and on the intensity measure of the underlying Poisson point process, we provide an explicit formula for the mean density. Particular cases and examples are also discussed. Moreover, an estimator of the mean density naturally arises in terms of the empirical capacity functional, which turns to be closely related to the well known random variable density estimation by histograms in the extreme case n = 0.

Generalized contact distributions of inhomogeneous Boolean models

The main purpose of this work is to study and apply generalized contact distributions of (inhomogeneous) Boolean models Z with values in the extended convex ring. Given a convex body L ⊂ Rd and a gauge body B ⊂ Rd such a generalized contact distribution is the conditional distribution of the random vector (dB(L,Z), uB(L,Z), pB(L,Z), lB(L,Z)) given that Z ∩L = ∅, where Z is a Boolean model, dB(L...

To Express Required CT-Scan Resolution for Porosity and Saturation Calculations in Terms of Average Grain Sizes

Despite advancements in specifying 3D internal microstructure of reservoir rocks, identifying some sensitive phenomenons are still problematic particularly due to image resolution limitation. Discretization study on such CT-scan data always has encountered with such conflicts that the original data do not fully describe the real porous media. As an alternative attractive approach, one can recon...

Propagation Models and Fitting Them for the Boolean Random Sets

In order to study the relationship between random Boolean sets and some explanatory variables, this paper introduces a Propagation model. This model can be applied when corresponding Poisson process of the Boolean model is related to explanatory variables and the random grains are not affected by these variables. An approximation for the likelihood is used to find pseudo-maximum likelihood esti...

Evaluation of 2-D Aeroelastic Models Based on Indicial Aerodynamic Theory and Vortex Lattice Method in Flutter and Gust Response Determination

Two 2-D aeroelastic models are presented here to determine instability boundary (flutter speed) and gust response of a typical section airfoil with degrees of freedom in pitch and plunge directions. To build these 2-D aeroelastic models, two different aerodynamic theories including Indicial Aerodynamic Theory and Vortex Lattice Method (VLM) have been employed. Also, a 3-D aeroelastic framework ...
